Bentley Priory Museum resides within a Grade II* listed Mansion House, with beautiful formal Italian gardens at the back of the house.

The house dates back to the early eighteenth century, and was extended in the late 1780s through the vision of  architect Sir John Soane, whose work at Bentley Priory includes The Rotunda with its fabulous ceiling.

Unique features of Bentley Priory Museum include a recreation of the Filter Room at RAF Bentley Priory, as it was in the late 1930s. The Filter Room was moved to a Bunker on-site just before the Battle of Britain commenced.

Interior filming and photography will usually need to take place outside the Museum’s opening days and hours.

Please note that the bunker – which housed the Filter Room and Operations Room at Bentley Priory during the Battle of Britain – was replaced by a cold war bunker in the 1980s and was filled in during building work in recent years. The bunker is therefore not accessible for filming or photography.
